Summary

Good Samaritan Remediation of Orphan Hardrock Mines Act of 2018

This bill: (1) requires the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to establish a pilot program under which the EPA grants permits for Good Samaritans to remediate historic mine residue at orphan hardrock mine sites, and (2) establishes a Good Samaritan Mine Remediation Fund for land management agencies that authorize Good Samaritans to conduct remediation projects on federal land.
