Summary

Charitable Equity for Veterans Act of 2019

This bill allows a tax deduction for charitable contributions to certain federally chartered organizations of past or present members of the Armed Forces. (Under current law, donations to such an organization are only deductible if at least 90% of the organization's membership consists of war veterans. The bill expands the deduction to include organizations that do not meet the wartime service requirement and are federally chartered.)
