Summary

Empowering Rural Economies Through Alaska Native Sustainable Arts and Handicrafts Act

This bill prohibits states from imposing bans on marine mammal and fossilized ivory products produced by Alaska Natives.

Specifically, states may not prohibit (1) the importation, sale, transfer, trade, barter, or possession of mammoth, mastodon, or walrus ivory, marine mammal bones, teeth, or baleen legally produced by an Alaska Native as an authentic native article of handicrafts and clothing; or (2) the importation, sale, transfer, trade, or possession of fossilized ivory.
