Summary

Allowing for the Safe Return of Rohingyas to Burma Act of 2019

This bill requires the President to withdraw duty-free treatment from Burma (Myanmar) and prohibits the President from reinstating such treatment without certifying that Burma (1) allows the safe, voluntary, and dignified return of Rohingya refugees; (2) has taken steps to provide Burmese citizenship to such Rohingya refugees; and (3) has addressed the root causes of the crisis in the Rakhine State.
