Summary

COVID-19 Employment Authorization Document Extension Act

This bill directs the Department of Homeland Security to automatically extend an alien's employment authorization if the authorization was valid when a public health emergency period begins. This extended authorization shall be valid until at least one year after the end of the emergency period.

This extension shall apply retroactively to any alien with employment authorization on January 31, 2020, and the end of such an extension shall be calculated using the date when the COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) public health emergency period ends.
