Summary

Prevent Emergency and Disaster Profiteering Act of 2020

This bill makes it unlawful for any person to sell or offer for sale a designated good or service at a price that is unconscionably excessive during a federally-declared emergency or disaster. The Department of Health and Human Services may designate a list of necessary goods or services during an emergency period and establish a margin over which an increase in the average price of such goods or services is deemed unconscionably excessive.
