Summary

Energy Efficiency Free Market Act of 2016

This bill amends the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to eliminate the Department of Energy's authority to set energy efficiency and water conservation standards for consumer and commercial appliances. All existing standards are repealed.

Additionally, the bill prohibitsstatesfrom setting their own energy efficiency and water conservation standards.All existing state standards are nullified.
