A BILL

To conduct or support further comprehensive research for the creation of a universal influenza vaccine.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the “Flu Vaccine Act”.

SEC. 2. Research for the creation of a universal influenza vaccine.

(a) In general.—The Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases shall conduct or support comprehensive research for the creation of a universal influenza vaccine.

(b) Authorization of appropriations.—To carry out this section, there are authorized to be appropriated $200,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2020 through 2024.
