Commercial Fishing Industry Vessel Clarification Act

This bill modifies provisions concerning uninspected fishing vessels to prescribe and require the prescription of certain safety standards on fishing, fish tender, or fish processing vessels.

Among other things, the bill addresses

  • regulations for the operating stability of vessels,
  • training requirements for vessel operators,
  • vessel certification requirements,
  • the alternate safety compliance program,
  • the substitute safety compliance program,
  • the enhanced substitute safety compliance program,
