Summary

This bill amends the Safe Drinking Water Act to require the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to address the level of perfluorinated compounds, including perfluorooctanesulfonic acid and perfluorooctanoic acid, in drinking water. Specifically, the EPA must publish a maximum contaminant level goal and promulgate a national primary drinking water regulation for perfluorinated compounds within two years. Perfluorinated compounds are manufactured compounds that are used in an array of consumer products and that accumulate in human blood.
