Mr. Moolenaar (for himself and Mr. Meuser) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means


A BILL

To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exclude ethylene from taxation under the Superfund excise tax.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the “Ethylene is Essential for Chemistry and Manufacturing Act”.

SEC. 2. Excluding ethylene from taxation under Superfund excise tax.

(a) In general.—The table contained in section 4661(b) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by striking the row relating to ethylene.

(b) Effective date.—The amendment made by this section shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
