Summary

This resolution modifies eligibility provisions to allow a parent of a deceased service member or veteran to participate in the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program, under which an individual may serve a 12-month fellowship in the office of a Member of the House of Representatives.

The program currently allows participation by a child, stepchild, spouse, or sibling of (1) an individual who dies in the line of duty while serving as a member of the Armed Forces, or (2) a veteran who dies of a service-connected disability.
