Summary

This bill extends the authority of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to continue to pay educational assistance and subsistence allowances during periods when educational institutions are temporarily closed due to an emergency situation or executive order. Under the bill, the VA may only continue to pay educational assistance and subsistence allowances for up to eight weeks (currently four weeks) after the date of the temporary closure of the educational institution.
