Summary

Critical Access Hospital Expansion Act of 2020

This bill allows states to certify additional hospitals as necessary providers of services that may qualify as critical access hospitals (CAHs) under Medicare. Currently, a hospital must have been certified prior to January 1, 2006, in order to qualify as a CAH and accordingly receive special payment under Medicare.
