To amend the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978 to reauthorize and expand State-wide assessment and strategies for forest resources.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. State-wide assessment and strategies for forest resources.
Section 2A(f) of the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978 (16 U.S.C. 2101a(f)) is amended—
(1) in paragraph (1), by striking “2023” and inserting “2028”;
(2) in paragraph (2), by striking “$10,000,000” and inserting “$50,000,000”; and
(3) by adding at the end the following:
“(3) IMPLEMENTATION OF STATE-WIDE ASSESSMENTS AND STRATEGIES FOR FOREST RESOURCES.—In addition to the authorization of appropriations in paragraph (1), there are authorized to be appropriated up to $40,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2023 through 2028 for the purposes of supporting the implementation of State-wide assessments and strategies for forest resources under this section.”.
