To amend the Agricultural Credit Act of 1978 to enhance the long-term protection of watersheds, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
This Act may be cited as the “Protecting Farmers from Natural Disasters Act of 2025”.
Section 403 of the Agricultural Credit Act of 1978 (16 U.S.C. 2203) is amended—
(1) by redesignating subsection (b) as subsection (c); and
(2) by inserting after subsection (a) the following:
“(b) Level of restoration.—The Secretary may allow restoration above pre-disaster conditions if that restoration is in the best interest of the long-term health and protection of the watershed.”.
