To prohibit the use of Federal funds to pay the President a settlement for costs associated with being investigated by the Federal Government, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
This Act may be cited as the “No Presidential Payouts Act”.
(a) Department of Justice.—Notwithstanding section 1304 of title 31, United States Code, no amounts may be obligated or expended from the Claims and Judgment Fund of the United States Treasury to pay the President of the United States, any relative of such President, or any entity associated with such President or such relative for any costs incurred by such President, relative, or entity in relation to any criminal or civil matter to which such President, relative, or entity is a party.
(b) Federal funds.—No Federal funds may be used to compensate the President of the United States, any relative of such President, or any entity associated with such President or such relative for any costs incurred by such President, relative, or entity in relation to any criminal or civil matter to which such President, relative, or entity is a party.
