This Act aims to regulate the privacy and security of user data and vehicle-generated data in motor vehicles and vehicles used for farming or construction. It prohibits manufacturers from accessing or sharing covered data without consent or for specific purposes, and mandates them to provide vehicle owners access to and control over such data. The bill proposes penalties for violations and grants enforcement powers to the Federal Trade Commission. Additionally, it addresses the disclosure of confidential business information and specifies that no new appropriations are authorized. This Act is set to take effect three months after enactment.
