Summary
Green Climate Fund Authorization Act of 2019
This bill authorizes U.S. contributions to the Green Climate Fund, a fund established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to finance projects to address climate change. Specifically, the bill authorizes contributions as necessary to (1) achieve the greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals under the Paris Agreement, and (2) exceed the commitment by developed countries to jointly mobilize $100 billion for climate financing each year.
