The bill aims to enhance research, access to preventive services, and public awareness of lung cancer in women and underserved populations. It mandates an interagency review, involving Health and Human Services, Defense, and Veterans Affairs secretaries, to evaluate and accelerate research, access to preventive services, and public awareness campaigns. This review should report on previous research outcomes, identify collaborative research opportunities, and develop a strategy for national lung cancer screenings and public education. A report on the review's findings is to be submitted to Congress within two years of the Act's enactment.
