This act aims to establish clean water standards for perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). It requires the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to publish human health water quality criteria and effluent limitations guidelines for specific industry categories to monitor and control PFAS discharges into the water. It also mandates monitoring of discharge for certain industry categories and entities. Additionally, it provides for the award of grants to publicly owned treatment works for pretreatment program activities to address PFAS contamination, with an authorized appropriation of funds to carry out these activities.
