The Act aims to enhance energy productivity by measuring and managing energy usage to boost economic and societal value. It necessitates the publication of comprehensive energy productivity assessments, quarterly energy productivity reports, and a comprehensive energy productivity and competitiveness assessment every three years. Additionally, it mandates the establishment of an Energy Productivity Task Force comprising federal agencies and independent experts. The Task Force will be terminated three years after its establishment. The Act defines "energy productivity" as the efficiency of energy usage in generating economic value.
