The bill will eliminate the three-day waiting period to buy a rifle or shotgun in Florida, which would undo one of the key changes enacted in response to the Parkland mass shooting, where 17 students and staff were killed.

HB 17 is a similar bill introduced in the House, which would allow buyers to get a gun as soon as the background check completes.

Would ban abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. Gov. Ron DeSantis has said he would sign the bill, should it end up on his desk.

SB 300 is the 6 week abortion ban proposed in the Senate.

The Florida legislature previously passed a bill banning abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy in 2022.
